The Ocean Numerical Forecasting Simulation Platform is a virtual experimental platform developed for various marine related professional courses in China, which can be conducted online based on the B/S architecture. The platform consists of four parts: basic operation training, ROMS training, SWAN training, and data visualization display. Through this platform, we provide an experimental environment similar to real experiments, serving the experimental teaching environment and launching applications.
The ocean numerical forecast simulation platform includes four modules, namely basic operation training, ROMS training, SWAN training, and data visualization display. Among them, basic operation training includes basic operation teaching and training of Linux system, instructions for obtaining supporting software, practical training, etc. Basic operation teaching includes file operation teaching, text operation teaching, task management operation teaching, and NC file teaching. Practical training includes file operation training, text operation training, task management operation training, and NC file training; ROMS training includes an introduction to the basic knowledge of patterns, such as basic difference equations, grid discretization, boundary and initial conditions, relevant support library files, and ocean data that supports operation. Pattern configuration and operation include practical simulations of ocean currents and tides; SWAN training includes an introduction to the basic knowledge of patterns, such as basic difference equations, grid discretization, boundary and initial conditions, relevant support library files, and ocean data that supports operation. Pattern configuration and operation practice include wave simulation practice; Data visualization includes the visualization and presentation of ocean currents, tides, and wave data.
