Virtual simulation experiment for oceanography teaching

The virtual simulation experiment of oceanography teaching reduces laboratory experiment costs while improving experimental safety, providing services for experimental teaching environment and launching applications.

The virtual simulation experiment for oceanography teaching is a set of virtual simulation experiment systems developed for various marine related professional teaching courses in China. This system includes two versions: a standalone version without network environment and a network version developed based on B/S architecture. Through this system, laboratory experiment costs have been reduced while improving experiment safety, providing services for experimental teaching environments and launching applications.

The simulated ocean survey platform consists of five modules, namely the internal wave module, ocean circulation, temperature and salinity distribution, wave module, and tidal module. Among them, the internal wave module includes interface wave simulation experiments, continuous layered internal wave experiments, and internal solitary wave simulation experiments; The ocean circulation module includes ocean circulation display, Ekman spiral experiment, and geostrophic flow experiment; The distribution of temperature and salinity includes horizontal distribution experiments, vertical cross-sectional distribution experiments, and thermocline observation and determination experiments; The wave module includes experiments on wind and wave growth, deep and shallow water waves, wave groups, standing waves, and nearshore wave evolution; The tidal module includes experiments on the distribution of various tidal components, tidal classification and generation experiments, rotating tidal wave experiments, and the distribution of tidal types in China's coastal waters.
